The Urban-V blends the old with the new.
No detail has been left to chance, such as the eco-leather finishes with visible stitching and the classic embroidered interior, but it is also an Arai through and through; in fact, it meets Arai’s strict internal standards in addition to the mandatory ECE 22-05 homologation, being equipped with the most modern technical features in terms of protection and comfort, such as an integrated ventilation system and a more rigid and rounded outer shell.
The Urban-V’s outer shell is made of PB-cLc2 (the same technology used in F1) and features a one-piece multi-density EPS inner shell (an Arai global exclusive).

ARAI URBAN-V OUTER SHELL
The outer shell of the Urban-V is made using Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction2 (PB-cLc2) technology.
The shape of the shell ensures timeless appeal and reflects our philosophy that a rounder, smoother, and stronger shell improves the helmet's ability to slide over potential obstacles, deflecting and distributing impact forces.
The patented Peripheral Belt (made of Super Fiber), inherited from our F1 helmets, helps improve shell strength and rigidity while maintaining light weight and a low center of gravity, for greater comfort over long distances.
This solution also allowed us to use a thinner EPS shell, which helps improve the upper field of vision.
The addition of a layer of Organic Felt inserted between the various laminate sheets further contributes to the rigidity of the shell without negatively affecting the weight of the helmet.
INNER SHELL/VENTILATION SYSTEM
At the heart of our helmet construction philosophy is the use of an extremely rigid and strong outer shell to distribute energy over the widest possible surface, combined with an EPS inner shell that helps absorb impact energy by acting similarly to crumple zones in automobiles.
The Urban-V is equipped with both, using a one-piece multi-density EPS inner shell and the PB-cLc2 outer shell.
Thanks to the increased strength of the outer shell, we were able to integrate a ventilation channel system within the EPS, which ensures a constant airflow inside the helmet.
Air enters through three channels positioned in the forehead area to flow over the head, removing heat.
Subsequently, thanks to the integrated channel, it is collected and directed toward the Venturi-effect extractor, which, thanks to the low-pressure area generated behind the helmet, handles the extraction.
INTERIOR
Removable and customizable antimicrobial liner
For an even softer, easier, and more comfortable fit, we have developed an even more delicate lining material.
The Urban-V interior is made of antimicrobial material, which helps maintain a balanced pH on the skin and boasts deodorant properties, allowing the helmet to stay fresher for longer.
Furthermore, for most Arai helmets, cheek pads of different thicknesses are available to provide a customized fit for every rider.
Inner liner
The embroidered Urban-V inner liner contributes to ventilation by guiding the airflow from the three front channels inside the helmet to the rear extractor.
Removable Urban-V cheek pads
The cheek pads can be easily removed for potential customization or cleaning. All remaining parts can be washed with lukewarm water and mild soap. Be sure to rinse well and never dry in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
