Description
xThis set contains two smart batteries (12V x 3A = 36W) and a charger.
They are equipped with a small Easy Connect Plug and can be used to power our heated gloves and socks. Depending on the garment and the heating level, the batteries can last up to 9.5 hours.
These batteries provide power to the garment efficiently and prevent overheating by monitoring the voltage. Furthermore, thanks to the internal processor, there is no need to turn them on: just connect the battery and turn on the glove or sock.
Another unique feature of the batteries is the Power Expansion System™. This ergonomic solution avoids the bulk at the wrists that would otherwise be created by a single, larger battery.
The PES allows us to split one battery into smaller, interconnected ones that can be inserted into the specific compartments of the heated gloves, distributing them around the wrist.
When looking for batteries, make sure you don't compare apples (7.4V) with pears (12V), because higher voltage heats up faster and reaches higher temperatures. In motorcycling terms, volts can be compared to the engine displacement (cc) of your motorcycle. To give you an idea: 12V at the lowest level (40% power) is comparable to 7.4V at the second highest level (80% power).
Amperage indicates the amount of energy passing through the cables at a given time. In practice, amperage determines how long the battery will last before it needs to be recharged. In a sense, amperage is equivalent to the size of the fuel tank.
By multiplying volts and amps, you get the wattage of the battery, or simply put: the power output. We talk about power output rather than temperature because the power output can be calculated (V x A = W), while temperature is subject to factors beyond our control. In motorcycling terms: horsepower.
